This project concerns the renovation and redesign of the office spaces for the President and several key executives located at the Onassis Cardiac Surgery Center (OCSC), on the hospital’s top floor. The design brief focused on creating a new identity and layout for the President’s office, the General Director’s office and the offices for certain Secretariats and Legal Advisors. The design aimed to ensure an alignment with OCSC’s aesthetic identity.
ADD aimed to evoke a timeless sense of style, using strict, orthogonal lines for ceilings and custom furniture, while integrating curved elements to introduce lightness and a contemporary appeal.
Visitors approach the offices through a corridor surrounding the hospital’s atrium, which features a striking steel canopy in bold blue, a hallmark of the building’s identity. The theme of blue was chosen to guide the first impression someone gets while entering the interior. A blue painted wall displaying one of Aristotle Onassis’s famous quotes offers a welcoming visual trigger that sets the tone .
The entrance to the President’s office is marked by a charcoal hued wooden gate, leading to an interior dominated by pieces of wooden furniture adhering to a classical style with dark tones. Off-white walls provide a neutral backdrop for art, while the President’s desk offers direct views of the Faliron Bay.
The partitions between the common areas of the offices and the individual work capsules are partially transparent. The meeting room uses full transparency . The design for the General Manager’s office and other spaces adopts a softer palette of cream-white tones and walnut veneer, with curved bookshelves and storage cabinets which softens corners.
The overall design is in full harmony with the building’s aesthetic identity while contemporary touches are introduced.
